Is my gift tax deductible?

No, Save the Children Action Network is a 501(c)(4) organization. Because our work involves lobbying and political advocacy, the IRS does not allow gifts to us to be deducted. If you'd like to make a tax-deductible gift instead, you can give to Save the Children, our 501(c)(3) partner, at savethechildren.org.

What's the difference between Save the Children Action Network (SCAN) and Save the Children?

Save the Children Action Network (SCAN) is the political advocacy arm of Save the Children, founded in 2014 to be the political voice for kids. Through a combination of grassroots activism, compelling messaging, and candidate engagement, we build relationships with policymakers to prioritize the issues impacting kids. Save the Children addresses the health, safety and education programs kids need, in the U.S. and around the world. Together, we are fierce advocates for kids working to provide all children with the nutritious food, high-quality early learning and protection they deserve.

How is my donation used?

Your gift helps fund our critical advocacy work, like engaging with candidates and elected officials, organizing volunteers in their home districts, and running public education campaigns. Your investment helps us fight to expand access to early childhood education, prevent child hunger in the U.S and globally and protect children around the world from harm in times of crisis.

How do I change, pause or cancel my monthly gift?

Changes take effect before your next scheduled charge.

Is my payment information secure?

Yes. Your donation is processed over an encrypted connection by a PCI-compliant payment processor, and SCAN never stores your full card number on our systems. If you ever see a charge you don't recognize, contact us at supportercare@savechildren.org and we'll look into it.

Save the Children Action Network (SCAN) was created in 2014 as the political advocacy arm of Save the Children, to be the political voice for kids. We work to ensure that the issues critical to children’s lives and futures are given top priority by our elected leaders, building bipartisan support to make sure every child has a strong start in life. As a 501(c)(4), gifts made to SCAN are not tax deductible.
